Here's what's cookin' in Brooklyn: Whole wheat vegetable tart.

The filling is a stiff pudding made from thinly sliced onions and peppers, rice milk, and arrowroot (look kids! it's vegan!). It's topped with local tomatoes that I picked last Sunday.

Looks great. I've been looking for new ways to use my farmers market and backyard veggie garden bounty. Yum.

Where do you find the time for all of this cooking? Better still where do you find a "u-pick" farm in Brooklyn

KMS: I barely find time to cook -- usually late Friday afternoons and on Sundays. We picked veggies in New Jersey. When people think of Jersey, they think of Newark and the Jersey Turnpike. But actually, most of New Jersey is very green and rural and there is a lot of farm land there. We drove an hour our of the city to Chester, NJ to pick veg.

This looks great, an 80 yr old lady from France, Ms Alice, gave me the recipe for something like this @ the gym, she's mostly vegetarian, but eats meat and dairy occassionally. I'll have to try it out and let you know, she did you cheese though.
