I want my window trim in red.... but not sure how to achieve the red im wanting. I took swatches home and picked one out and it was more pink than red, that's even over the brown of previous paint it looks pink.... should I go with the normal brick red I lean more towards the fire truck red but im putting on the house

Wait until it's completely dry. If it look pink, do a second coat. Reds have a tendency to look pink until they are dry or when there isn't enough coats. I know this from experience in the past and just this week we painted out new shed/barn red.

Doesn't matter if you're putting it on the house or a piece of furniture, if it makes you happy and feel good do it. I say go with the fire truck!

If you prefer a fire truck red, there is no reason why you can't use that but just go into it knowing that using any shade of red paint requires some patience. It can take 3 coats and sometimes even then it will look pale or splotchy at first, until it has a chance to completely dry and cure. The secret of getting the truest form of the red you chose (or really any dark color), you should ideally use a tinted primer first. I painted a room Christmas red once and the paint store guy tinted the primer a medium gray. Even with the tinted primer and 3 coats of paint, it still looked splotchy when I was done and I was so frustrated. However, after a couple days, much to my surprise, it had all evened out and it was beautiful and very rich looking. Before you jump in and paint all the windows, try one window with several coats and see if that makes a difference. If it's not coming out the same color of the paint chip swatch, try using a tinted primer. Show the paint store clerk the color you are using and he/she will tint the primer based on the shade of red you have chosen.
