You guys blow me away every time you post. :) -
I second that, Miriam! -
Inspiring. Love having the pond come right up to the patio or deck. -
Aw, shucks. It's great that Hometalk provides us all a place to share our inspirations and get more ideas! -
Very nice stuff-can you give us any idea of budget numbers? -
Beautiful pond. What kind of maintenance does it require? -
What's the cost to build ? And maintain ? -
I have the same questions as Craig, Cindy, and LindaMarie. Also, do you need to have a natural source of water or can you have a pump to circulate it? I need all the info. I can get to convince my husband this is a must! I also agree with Douglas with the pond close to the patio/deck. -
Very beautiful. You must have put in an amazing amount of work! My son decided to put in a small pon in my yard and bit by bit I am landscaping around it as I can afford it, but am also having a problem keeping it clean. I put in some goldfish last year and somehow they managed to winter over, but the water is just not clear at all and I have tried a couple different natural products that say they will clean up a pond. Not. -
Beautiful, but I am wondering about mosquito's ? Any issues with them? -
The only way I'm ever going to get a pond in my back yard is if I'm the only one that lives in my house, till then keep the pics comming. Just georgous. -
Looks like a place to sit, and get lost in your thoughts. Just beautiful. -
looks great -
To answer the question of cost ... a small pond installed with rock, fish, and plants will run around $4500. You can buy a DIY pond kit for just under $1000 that has everything you need except the rock, fish and plants. Prices are dependent on size of pond, type of rock used, number of waterfalls, length of stream, whether you add lighting or a bridge, etc. -
I have put in small ponds at several of the homes I have lived in. I used the hard plastic pond from Home Depot at several...just made mine 3 ponds high the other day and love it. At one house had a large pond installed ..the people who bought the house took it out and put in a swimming pool right off. But they came from MIA and had kids. -
Ponds can be a DIY project, but my experience has been the professionals do better with rock placement for the most natural effect. I have an Aquascape pond here in NC, and I can't speak highly enough about their expertise in the way it's all put together. I can't stand it when people put a circle of little rocks around a pond--it looks like a "pearl necklace." -
This is very nice. -
Lyndi F, thank you for your kind words! Do you remember what Aquascape contractor installed your pond? Rock placement can be a bit of an art form so it's important to study what rocks look like in a stream or waterfall found in nature. The goal is to make the pond and waterfall like they occurred naturally in your yard. :) -
Pond Professors in Greensboro, NC. Installed May, 2010. We've worked for 2 years now landscaping around it. My husband is working right now to install a UV light in-line. We are really loving it! Maybe I'll post pics sometime. -
Hey Lyndi! I just saw the photos you posted of your pond. Looks great! The arbor and New Dawn roses are just lovely. -
Wanted you to know we love your gorgeous outdoor living spaces. We shared one in our summer outdoor projects round-up because we just think it is so beautiful. Also gave a shout-out of it on our Facebook Page. Keep the gorgeous pictures and inspiration coming! http://www.atthepicketfence.com/2012/09/were... -
At the Picket Fence ... thanks so much! Glad you enjoy the water gardens. They really transform a yard. -
Beautiful! We have 3/4 acre flat land we want a pond, instead of a park...
