Cleaning & Organization: Cleaning granite countertops naturally

Can anyone recommend a homemade cleaner for granite countertops? I'm trying to minimize my use of chemical cleaners since I have a new baby in the house. Thanks!

I've also been using it to spray ants on my countertops. It kills them on contact. Then ...»
after the next bunch of ants show up I spray with a water mister bottle and it re-activates the original spray and kills the next ants. I've wiped them out after about 5 days--something I've been trying to do for 2 years with ant poison.

I've reclaimed lots of rusted iron skillets and pots by using a rotary wire brush on a drill ...»
to clean the bad rust off. Then scrub it good with a Brillo pad. Once clean and rinsed, dry good quickly, like by placing on a hot stove. Rub down with unsalted fat of some sort or oil and I've even placed them in the fire of a bonfire or woodstove and then repeated the oiling after they cool. Don't leave them in a really hot fire or all your oiling will burn off and will come to naught. You just want to season it. After that you can use it and wash it lightly, re-oiling as needed. Just make sure you dry it and don't use harsh detergents on it that will remove the oil.

That water is supposed to be in the bottom of your dishwasher. If you don't use it often and ...»
it dries up, it could damage the seals, so I've been told. Also, you can buy a cleaner probably at places like Home Depot that sells dishwashers. I was given a sample when I last bought one and it cleaned up my used and highly calcified d-washer. You just run it through a normal cycle and it all comes out sparkling.
