Upstairs bathroom

My daughter loves dolphins and sealife, so we changed decor several times before settling on neutral tones so that she could add the bright sea colors to the accessories later on...Note the dolphin faucet, so cute!

After framing the shower, I added a tile-redi shower pan, they are just awesome and take about ten minutes to set and install.

Building the vanity. since the room is so small, I thought a wall mounted vanity would work best.

This is lovely, but you didn't use a waterproof membrane on top of the greenboard in the shower? I thought that was an absolute necessity....cause morter isn't water proof...

We too have a very small bathroom-but really how brave you were to expand the wall, and how fortunate that you could! I really like your ceiling tiles and of course the faucet-where did you find it?

I Love the ceiling! and frankly the "surprise" change up of tile at the vanity and also I really LIKED how you broke the tiles into small pieces to transition from the pebbles to the large tiles...it makes a seamless change that keeps it interesting but doesn't scream HEY LOOK HERE, LoL - I thought that was sheer genius...

Sharron, I NEVER use greenboard in a wet area, I use hardybacker board and waterproof it by taping off the seams and going over them with thinset, then I use tilelab sealer over the whole thing when it's finished. Membranes, in my opinion, are an extreme waste of money, as 1/2 hardybacker does not allow moisture to penetrate it. When I was experimenting to see what method was 'true' I laid hardybacker outside on my deck and let the rain fall on it...it was dry on the backside after three ...»
days of rain. So...I would never pay almost 100 bucks for a 'membrane' when the backerboard works perfectly. Also I use tileredi shower pans...they are leakproof with a metal flange the hardbacker sits on...
