This is lovely, but you didn't use a waterproof membrane on top of the greenboard in the shower? I thought that was an absolute necessity....cause morter isn't water proof... -
We too have a very small bathroom-but really how brave you were to expand the wall, and how fortunate that you could! I really like your ceiling tiles and of course the faucet-where did you find it? -
I Love the ceiling! and frankly the "surprise" change up of tile at the vanity and also I really LIKED how you broke the tiles into small pieces to transition from the pebbles to the large tiles...it makes a seamless change that keeps it interesting but doesn't scream HEY LOOK HERE, LoL - I thought that was sheer genius... -
Sharron, I NEVER use greenboard in a wet area, I use hardybacker board and waterproof it by taping off the seams and going over them with thinset, then I use tilelab sealer over the whole thing when it's finished. Membranes, in my opinion, are an extreme waste of money, as 1/2 hardybacker does not allow moisture to penetrate it. When I was experimenting to see what method was 'true' I laid hardybacker outside on my deck and let the rain fall on it...it was dry on the backside after three ...» -
