Rocking chair refinishing

Tracy
by Tracy
This Rocking chair is awesome, but the cane weaving is mildly damaged and the paint is chipping badly. Don't know that I can strip all the paint from the weaves parts. Wondering if anyone has replaced these parts with upholstery or added spindles to the back part.
Thanks in advance

I have a source for the cane weaving, it comes in sheets and installed like a screen. Sometimes the spindles can be matched at your local DIY store too. Some like chipping paint, personally, I don't care to need to vacuum it constantly.

Here are some pics... Thank you in advance. I want to paint it a bright color and know I can get rid of paint on actual chair. The seat and back have only a small bit of damage, but I wonder if I could replace with an outdoor fabric or spindle the back part. Thank you thank you thank you

Here's a link to repairing the cane, but stripping the paint from the cane would be quite a task! I think I'd smooth it as much as possible and paint over it. http://homeguides.sfgate.com/repair-caning-rocking-chair-102574.html
