public arts mural incorporating faux cottage - Hahn
This is an 80 ft X 20 ft mural we did for the city of Lake Wales FL. It can be seen on Stuart Ave in the historic downtown district. Because there were exterior windows that "chopped into" the canvas ... we incorporated them by creating a faux cottage painted around them. At dusk, when the lights come on inside, it does look like a quaint cottage, against a natural backdrop, rather than a huge industrial style building. When my wife Kay was finishing painting the bougainvillaeas, a Monarch butterfly flew up & landed on them. A guy from Ohio was standing there at the time, and said in a deadpan voice, about the butterfly incident: "that's a great demo".
