Garden Planter Dresser

Ahhh, this dresser. From Wal-Mart when my 5 year old daughter was born. I redid it for my son's room and when it started falling apart, I just couldn't bear to toss it. So I am giving it one last chance in my garden! It is really coming around as the plants are filling in and I couldn't be happier!

what did you do to preserve it from the elements. I would worry about it falling apart from rain and snow.

I applied 3 coats of polyurethane, but I still feel like it is going to fall apart. I will be covering it with a tarp for the winter.

Love it! Very inspirational because I've been looking at an old set of drawers that my dad made in the 60's and thinking about doing something similar. Love the trellis on the top.

Kim @ Too Much Time On My Hands what an amazing idea. Went to see your blog for instructions - great information. Just wondering if you put any weight in the top closed drawer for stability. The planters are a great idea for the drawers. A I love the way you incorporated a climbing plant on the top and used a frame for adding the strings. Very striking. Now I have to go find me a dilapitated dresser, I think I have the perfect spot. ...»

We have snow today - again - so I am trolling the gardening section to pick up my spirits to believe that spring is going to come.

Thanks so much for sharing :)
