Your kids will definitely enjoy making these Mummy Bowls, and of course, you too!
If you are searching for a fun & scary DIY project for the Halloween even kids will love. Then this is for you - Mummy Bowls! I found this post from http://www.frugallivingmom.com/mummy-bowls-fun-craft-for-halloween/ and I was hooked instantly.
Supplies for Mummy Bowls:

1. About 1/2 yard of 48 inch cotton muslin, cut in 1/2 (so 24 inches) and torn into 1 inch strips

2. 8 oz craft or school glue

3. 4 oz water

4. Glass or plastic bowls (note: I used 3 glass bowls, 2 were about 6-7 inches across and about 3-4 inches deep and 1 was about 4 inches across and around 2-3 inches deep)

5. Plastic Wrap

6. Newspaper for protecting crafting surface
Instructions for Mummy Bowls:

1. Prepare craft surface with newspaper and spread out about 2 ft of plastic wrap where you will be working. (you can work on a tray or cutting board if you will want to move your craft to dry later)

2. Mix Glue and Water in a medium sized bowl, stir until combined

3. Tear off enough plastic wrap to cover the OUTSIDE of the bowl

4. Turn covered bowl upside down and lay on prepared surface

5. Dip muslin strips into the glue mixture and coat. Squeeze to remove excess glue

6. Start at the rim of the bowl wrapping the muslin strips around the bowl, press to stick to the plastic covered bowl

7. Keep wrapping the muslin until the whole bowl is completely covered, if any area seems weak just wrap on more muslin

Note: you do not want this to be a perfect job.. seriously, messier is better (why this a great craft for kids)

8. When completely covered allow to dry for up to 2 days (or until the glue is not longer wet)

9. To remove your Mummy Bowl from the glass or plasic bowl carefully run a knife between the bowl and the plastic wrap. You make need to work at it a bit but the bowl should pop out and you can remove the plastic wrap.

10. Fill your mummy bowl with creepy things like “poison apples”, spiders, bugs, mice.. whatever ;) And to serve a snack just put the bowl you used for the mold back inside and fill with snacks.
