To prevent chalk dust on your floors, do not use a dry chalkboard eraser. Instead, use a sponge that has been wet and excess water wrung out. You won't have the ghost or the dust. You will have a fresh, black chalkboard. This was how the classroom chalkboards were cleaned once in a while. The big erasers were taken outside and clapped together. I used this method when we used chalkboard paint in the playroom. After having to vacuum up the dust, I remembered how the WDAY-TV weatherman had cleaned his weather board.(That was back in the dinasaur days. LOL)
