Has anyone used Valspar Tintable Chalkboard Paint? And, if so, how does it compare to Anne Sloan's Chalk Paint?

Chalkboard paint is not the same as ASCP. The Valspar paint is for turning anything into a chalkboard. ASCP is for painting furniture, not for writing on.

Donna@, I was lucky enough to have a friends mom buy a quart of Vintage Market, and never used it, so passed it on to me free. It was lovely!!! Buttery, full coverage, beautiful! I have also used FolkArt Home Décor, chalk paint from Joanne and it is beautiful, smooth and buttery with a very nice coverage. I bought Craft Smart brand chalk paint from Michaels and am very sorry I wasted the money. The Craft Smart gel stain in Silver grey was a nice way to age RAW wood, or distress white painted furniture. I would buy the gel stain again, but the chalk paint took almost the entire 8 oz bottle to paint a small shelf ( changing from light light grey to parchment)... where the FolkArt and Vintage Market and my home made (I use calcium bicarbonate) I would use 2 to 4 ounces for the same size shelf. Hope that helps
