Does anyone know where I can find large containers to repot two Sago palms that are bursting out of their 24" plastic

pots? I have tried online and all the local stores, but can't find anything cheaper than $100. each.

Leslie- I just purchased a HUGE plastic pot for my home at Costco of all places. I paid $69 for the pot and it is much larger than 24". Plus, while you are there you can buy that 40lb. bag of pistachios that every house needs. GOOD LUCK!

Maybe try craigslist? Might luck out and find some large pots there for a deal.

If you want decorative ceramic pots of all sizes, AW Pottery in Chamblee is great....but will probably cost more than $100 for a big one.

What about Old Time Pottery? Is that still around? We used to get lots of ceramics there for good prices. And maybe Michaels or JoAnns? They always seem to have some good clearance items!

Hill Street used to have some really nice pottery.

I have a few Mexican clay pots that are pretty cool.

Many thanks to everyone who responded. All ideas were excellent. Many places I'd never heard of (Craven and AW), others I hadn't thought of. I hit pay dirt with Patsy's idea of Home Depot Online. I had been to the store in person, unsuccessfully, but when I went online, there it was: 28" planter, plastic, $49.99 and -- free shipping! Thanks again for everyone's help.

Glad you found something, Leslie, and I'm sure the sagos are, too!

Leslie, in Florida we are losing our sagos because of a nasty insect that covers the fronds with white crud (crud is my word). This has been going on for a few years.

Does that problem exist in your area or does the weather keep the insect in nice warm Florida?

I have not noticed it on my 2 plants. Let's hope the weather does keep it away!
