Halloween has always been my favorite holiday, and I've always decorated my house , but I like traditional spooky Halloween, not the cute stuff...
I never made my own wreaths before , but my husband was pulling down vines that were choking and killing our trees and asked me if I could use them for any craft projects ... I decided to try and make my own wreaths by wrapping them around and around into a round or oval shape.
I was able to twist the end of the vines into the wreath, when I thought it might not hold, I used a little wire. I left some of the ends loose and sticking out, not so perfect.
I let the vines sit a couple of weeks in the garage to dry out.* sorry no pictures of this step .
Next I gathered a bunch of Halloween decorations from the dollar store , skulls, spiders, bats , spider webs, bugs, crows, mice, Spanish moss & ribbons.
I grabbed my hot glue gun , and had some fun !!!! Here are some of the results
For this one I just put a whole spider web, and added some spiders, I especially like to add them to the ends of the little extra loose hanging ends.
In this one I used some Spanish moss and placed a skull on top,( i darkened the eyes and nose with black paint ) then added a ribbon and assorted bugs and mice.
In this wreath I left a bunch of vine ends that I couldn't tuck in. I was thinking of clipping them , but decided I liked it, I thought it added interest. I added a crow, bugs and mice.
For this one , I just added spider webbing and large spiders.
This wreath has skeletons and bats.
