Stealing Unused Floor Space To Build A Closet

We used the original closet space in the upstairs bedroom at our mountain cottage to install a half bath, so we needed a place to put a closet.
This was the perfect place for a closet, since the wall was very long.
My husband framed up the space with 2 x 4's. The usable space would end up giving us 52" of short hang, which was plenty for a vacation home. More closet space will eventually be built just outside the closet door.
Doors were built using plywood and split 1 x 3's. After filling the holes, the doors were primed and then painted.
Here's the closet finished. Across from the closet is floor to ceiling shelving for more storage. Drop by my blog to see the inside of the closet and to see more details of how the doors were hung.
