spider

Can anybody identify this spider? Im familiar with black widows, but this looks different. it has a red broken stripe on its topside and is brown in color. Any help would be appreciated! Just wanna know if it is something that is dangerous or venomous.

TaniaC wrote above " I had to save my daughter and her little friend that stayed over Friday night for a sleep over... They were playing Hide and Go seek and Jessie and the Friend Caitlyn asked where they could hide from my other daughter Katelyn... Yes I know It gets Confusing when there is too Katelyn/Caitlyns in the same house.... Any hoo I told them Go Hide under the bed in the spare ...» ...»

room... so they both slid ever so elegantly under the bed and with in 2 seconds I here a SCREEEEEEEEAM.... SPIDER!!!!! I have never seen 2 little girls extract themselves from under a bed so quickly... With flashlight in hand I located the intruder and lightly squished it so that i could still make out what kind of Spider i was dealing with... I thought at first that it was a Recluse cause we have had problems with them in the Past but it wasn't so he had his burial at the porcelain post and that was that... Ah I do believe that the Hide and Go seek Game Ceased at that time and they went back to playing the Wii Game..:) this is hilarious! Give my love to the girls! Funneee love it! Bernice!

Sherrie S the thing I like most about spiders is.....I cannot think of anything except their web weaving is magnificent! I love to see the intricacy they put into building the things that make me scream and grab my broom! ...I do not mind spiders that are out doors at all..but in my home....let's just say they are NOT a welcome visitor!

Speaking of which, I saw another gigantic one yesterday...another Wolfe Spider..these things look like they are on steroids!..I swear I could almost hear him walking across the floor with that "I dare you to squish me" look in his eye..er...eyes....
