Okie Junking Trip!

Junking trip around Ada, OK. The temperature was well over a 100 but that didn't stop us. We started downtown and lucked into a good deal on the chair because it was Sidewalk sale day with 50% off! We headed west out of Ada to DeAnna's Architectural Salvage! If you've never been, you should plan a trip! I have include pictures of my fellow thrifters. As you can see, we start them young here! The ladder we scored was in the ditch on the way home! Gotta love ditch diving in the country:)

I AM SOOOOO JEALOUS!! Tractor seats and ceiling tiles galore!! Not to mention dragonfly parts!! The ditch diving was almost what I was doing today. I've been eyeing this pile of wood from an old decrepit building that was torn down a couple of years ago. Finally talked hunny into escorting me so I could have a close up. I found some goodies - a great picture frame, an old wooden chair and some great boards for signs. And it was HOT!! Not as hot as OK but definitely "glowing" up a storm!! LOL

Those trips and finds like you did today are the best and most fun! This time of season we can't really dig like that since this area has a lot of copperheads and rattlesnakes. So, we are kinda limited until a cold spell. I am writing down old home places that we see around here and just waiting for a cold snap!!

@Tina - that's partly why I wanted an escort cause I was afraid there would be snakes. Didn't see any (fortunately) but my husband threatened me and said if I stepped on a nail he would kill me!! I do have a pair of "girl" work boots so I may just go back . . . . .

If I ever got to a place like this, I would have to have a pickup truck and a large U-Haul to get out of there! I LOVED, LOVED the pictures and look forward to seeing some finished projects. Be sure to show the befores when you post the afters. Were the prices resonable. So many of these places want too much money!

Yes, DeAnna is reasonable on her prices. I will post before and after pictures. The Oklahoma heat is cramping my style a little bit. I am starting early in the morning and the temps rise quick. It is 10:00 am here and already 100. So, I work on getting my dragonflies orders done. My personal projects are coming along slowly:) Surely fall is right around the corner!

Hey, here in GA we feel your pain! It is all we can do to keep our yard halfway in shape. Don't want to mow too much because limited rain! And there are enough bugs to carry off a grown man not to mention West Nile Virus found in all metro counties! Our projects are on hold until it gets down to 80!
