Skeleton Key Display

One of my favorite things about our old colonial house is its original chestnut trim and doors. In fact, we have 18 doors in our house! But you know what came with all those doors? Skeleton keys! I just knew I had to do something with them.
These are some of the awesome keys that came with our house and were just sitting in a drawer. Gasp! So I came up with a fun and easy way to display them. (Yes, I realize we now won't be able to use them.)
I had this frame lying around - it's almost like a shadow box. I knew it'd be perfect, but I had to do something about those flower pictures, which were attached to the backing.
I decided to cut up a paper bag and wrap it around the backing to serve as my new background.
I arranged the keys in the matte and then used craft glue dots to adhere them to the paper bag backing. (You could also use a glue gun.) And then I simply reassembled the frame.
Now we have a nice showcase in our hallway of a little piece of our home's history. For the full how-to, be sure to visit my blog.
