Pottery Barn Inspired Halloween Mantel

I am currently part of a Rock Your Knock Off tour with a group of talented bloggers where we choose high-end décor and recreate it for much less. Since Halloween is just around the corner I started searching for Halloween décor. My search didn't take long. After searching Pottery Barn Halloween, I found a very cool mantel decorated as if ghosts had swept in in the middle of the night and rearranged everything. I knew this was my knock off project!
Here is my version:
Here is the Pottery Barn Version:
The coolest thing is Pottery Barn offers the spooky photos free to download and use in your own décor. {Follow the link to the original post at the bottom to get the images.}

I started with some frames from my stash and a few smaller dollar store frames.
I cut the mats out of poster board. They look pretty great.
The glass candelabras are my favorite...
...made from thrift store dessert dishes! I put them together using E6000 glue.
The books came from my parent's attic. I smacked them with a hot tea bag to age them a bit.
The candles were the only thing I couldn't find on the cheap, but at $22 for all five, I figure I can use them after Halloween.
Aren't the photos creeptastic?
I originally had a haunted house that I found at a yard sale and spray painted black, but it looked like a big black blob. I decided I liked this house in the cloche that we found a couple of weeks ago at Target better.
The hat was a thrift store find and started out purple. I gave it a coat of black spray paint.
Pretty fun, right?
I love to decorate for Halloween. It's so easy to decorate on a budget. What about you? Do you like a little spooky in your Halloween?
