Incorporating salvaged design elements in new construction

Incorporating salvaged design elements into new construction fascinates me, We recently built a new home around a pair of 8' hooped top doors.

You can see more about this project here.

That's well-planned reuse right there. Nice work.

I love that you reused an antique door. There's something to be said about building your own home..............much easier than retrofitting. The door gives your home such character!!

    Hi Steve,

as soon as we saw the door sitting out leaning against the wall at the salvage place the wheels started turning. We also added the hooped top dormers on the house and garage to echo the shape of the door.

    Glad you like it!

Beautiful home...love adding the salvaged elements to give new construction that lived in layered look. This is what makes an ordinary space...extraordinary!!
