Animal Head Clock

Julia Fabens
by Julia Fabens
Using 12 plastic animal figurines, a plexiglass disc, some glue, paint and a few other bits, I made an original clock for my sister. It was a pretty risky present, since I had no idea if it would look awesome like it did in my head, or if it would look 100% crazy person. In the end, it was 90% awesome, 10% weirdo - a perfect ratio in my mind!
Supplies:

12 animal figurines (I used these, these and this, because some stag horns at 12 were a must)

Plexiglass circle – our local hardware store cut it for me for around $20. It is not a normal cut so it took a few extra days.

Spray paint – Rustoleum Painters Touch Ultra Cover 2X in Brilliant Blue

Spray paint – Rustoleum Metallic Gold

Glue gun and glue

Clock with only hands

Hacksaw

Scissors

Drill

Poster tape

Sticky velcro

Triangle picture hanger with screws

Small paintbrush

Print-out of a clock and a ruler

(or a compass & protractor)

Happy (plastic) animal beheading!

This would be so cute in an animal themed kids room - great idea!

Love this! You could do it with so many things! I would use old jewelry broaches or scrabble pieces! The wheels are turning ;D
