How to re-do your stairs

I need to pull up the carpet off stairs and put down hardwood. How do I get started?

I just pulled carpet up and painted stairs..... it's time consuming but not all that difficult. To get started just find an edge and start pulling it up. I have a floor scraper (can find at your local hardware store in the flooring department) and I used that to scrape up any tacking strips and staples..... it doesn't get all the staples so used a screwdriver and pliers to pull any that are left out. A friend of mine uses a flathead shovel to scrape... the edges curl a little but it works also.... that'll get you started.
