    There are three things that immediately come to mind that are rough on hardwood floors...kids, dogs and moisture. Therefore, from a purely practical standpoint, I would say avoid hardwood floors in moisture prone areas; i.e.: kitchens, bathrooms, laundry areas...

    Having said that, Ari is a great example of the exception...it works for him. You have to decide whether it would work for you. Tim
