Curious how to remove the apparent film on my bamboo flooring!

Question

Not sure why it feels sticky..but when i attempt to use my dry swiffer mop it doesn't glide easily over the flooring.  I've never used a wet mop, never used any cleaners.  At a loss, not finding good info on the web either.  Any flooring experts out there?  thanks!!

How old is the floor? Do you know if it was ever refinished? Is it sticky or is it rough finish?

Bamboo flooring is a exotic wood.  And cleaning it is different.
We use Bruce's Wood flooring Cleaner on it.
On other hard wood flooring I use Bona.
Bruce's have more of a alcohol smell.
If your still in doubt call the wood flooring company it was purchased from not the installers.
The flooring company my clients purchased from suggest Bruce's Hardwood Flooring Cleaner.  So that's what I use.  They also sent me cleaning guidelines.

I wanted to ad a few more things.  We use micro fiber mops.  When we use cleaners we spray directly on the mops never on the floors.  I also always have several mops that I change out when one of them looks dirty.

How do you get around using a mop (wet mop of some sort) to get the normal ickies up off the floor? At my house, my hardwood floors get sticky just because we walk on them (OK, as do our 3 doggies...) I don't have bamboo, have oak...and have to use wet mopping to clean (not the kind my mom used! No buckets and sponges!)

It can be mopped.  We again use micro fiber mops.  We ring all the water out of the mop and then dry.  If the mop head gets dirty we rinse it out.  Or we use a spray bottle of water and lightly mist the mop head.  We mop and dry.

Thanks everyone!! I appreciate the thoughtful responses. I will look for Bruce's cleaner and pick up a microfiber mop and report back. it may just be dirt buildup, not a finish issue. I dont know the manufacturer unfortunately, the flooring came with the house when i bought it. Have a great weekend everyone!!

I know this is 3 years later but I had film on my bamboo also. I googled and found this blog. I tried everything. It was so horrible. I tried bruces cleaner, pledge cleaner. Nothing took the film off. The cleaners actually made the floor look worse. Very desperate!! So today I tried windex. Yes windex. I tested an area in the corner just in case this would create a bigger mess then what I had. I actually sprayed the windex on the floor. I sprayed the windex on the floor and wiped it with a dry swifter cloth . It worked!!! It was very time consuming because I had to do one area at a time. I don't know if my film is the same film that Lisa from MD had but i had to come back and share this. I can't believe how great the bamboo floor looks now. One more thing. The windex I used was from the dollar store.
