My Fave Room? The Dining Room!

The dining room is my favorite room in the house. This is where family and friends gather for home cooked meals, great conversation, and celebrations of all sorts. I've had my dining set for almost 30 years, having custom ordered it at a local boutique. Recently I've given it a makeover using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. My children have grown up at this table ... it's where they've enjoyed their first Christmas dinners, celebrated numerous birthdays, and even labored over math homework. The china cabinet holds my antique china, as well as my mother's china and Waterford crystal. Part of my beloved mirror collection is also in the dining room, which is bright and airy and always gives me a lift when I pass through or sit down for a meal with loved ones.

Fresh flowers are a must for the dining table. Roadside flowers are tucked into mason jars that are seated inside a burlap-lined old drawer.
