Creating a Suittable

What do you get if you have a table with a questionable top and a suitcase? A SuitTable! A perfect conversation piece for your home. Shabby chic at its best. How did I do it? Well, I had this table given to me with good bones, but cosmetically questionable. But I loved its lines.
And I had this suitcase begging for a purpose...
I put the bottom of the suitcase on top of the table and measured each side until I knew it was centered. Using pilot holes, I drilled five fat screws straight through the suitcase into the table top.
I then flipped the suittable (cute, huh?) over and painted the bottom sides. I chose Coastal Colors Turks to make a beautiful statement. My customers LOVE Turks and I can't keep anything too long in this color!
After painting it I knew I wanted the character and hardware to be highlighted with dark wax. See the difference and how much CHARACTER the dark wax gives the suittable?
Here is the final suittable.
