  • two old desks.

Furniture: Old school desks

Ive got these two old school desks picked them up super super cheap at a yard sale. They are in perfect shape, the seats fold up nicely. Ive dated them to around 1890.I had them for sale on Craigslist, but the only hits I received were from a couple of "clowns" who wanted to send me a "cheque" and have cousin Vinny swing on by and pick them up. Anyway, Im not sure what to do with them. I do not want to paint them. Any ideas would be wonderful!

Those are precious! Could you remove the actual desk top & use the well as planters & use the ...»
desk top tops as a garden sign or if indoors, add a piece of cork on one & chalkboard paint on the other. Would be cute in some type of covered garden area or porch!

Is it just me or does this seem a bit "over the top"?

Heading back from some work in Wyoming, my client wanted to take me out for a bite at a Restaurant in Fort Collins. They were going to continue on down to Denver for a night at the symphony. After we ate at this neat Brazilian Grill. I took the back roads home along the edge of foothills, rather than zipping down the less attractive stretch of I-25.

I happened along this place....I have to say it is probably the biggest home I have ever seen.

  • Updated the look today to a more minimalistic look, tired of tchachkis...however you spell that!
The artwork is my piece , you can see my other pieces at: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Color-Your-Canvas-by-Ana-Maria/194005904040398 3
  • Less tchachkis new painting for new updated fireplace look 1
  • Less is more but added ONE new "knick knack" or tchachtki on the mantle....my obsession for LIVE orchids. Also, it is my artwork over the fireplace, you can see my other pieces at: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Color-Your-Canvas-by-Ana-Maria/194005904040398
  • Remodeled Kitchen- wanted fireplace to match since the den and kitchen are in same room.
  • BEFORE- fireplace no longer coordinated nor matched with new kitchen granite and tumbled marble backsplash
  • AFTER- went right over the bricks and has held up for 6 years no problems! There are our summertime candles in the fireplace, we light those at night or when guests come over since you can not use the fireplace in the summer.

Best product for wood or laminate is "Bona Kimi", now sold at Home Depot.

Gardening: I have this thing growing up through an azelia. I know it has to go, but (esp. @Walter Reeves) what IS it? Anybody?

It looks kind of like a holly of some sort, but the leaves are more broad than any holly I've seen! Also, if you know what it is, just what are those berries going to do? Flower? Change color? Stain my clothes?
