  • Downstairs bathroom. I assume its a powder room, is it in basement? What kind of floor? Is the drywall that is damaged on an outside wall? Armed with that information we can help you out with answers and ideas to prevent any new repairs from having this same issue

Yes it is a powder room downstairs (no basement)..the wall with damage is the wall that is connected to the garage. The floor is just vinyl/lenioum that is also in by kitchen (most likely will have to replace ALL of it..?)

Marlo, My daughter just had this same problem in a downstairs laundry room. The dry wall and floor were wet on the outside wall. After checking the washing machine, the dishwasher upstairsand all the other pipes under the sink etc, a plummer cut a hole in the wall and discovered a pipe that was split and leaked when under pressure. The split piece was removed and a new section put in. Dry wall repaired. No problems since.

If you are good with home repair, check this out using the advice given. If you are not, you better have a plumber out before you get into serious repairs! Good luck!
