Our Master Bathroom Makeover (Using What We Have!)

This past Spring we decided to update our master bathroom. Once we started thinking about doing the tile and shower we became very stressed out! Then I thought...lets use what we have...just spruce it up a bit. We did have Corian installed, but the rest we did on our own with basically paint. http://www.redheadcandecorate.com/4/post/20...

Wow, having read your entertaining blog on this...I love it...but I have questions....WHY did you hate your painted counter so much and Why would you never do it again? Someone else just posted a kitchen makeover with painted counters and is quite happy about them....Just sayin....I'd like to know cause I was considering it....

Secondly, YOU PAINTED THE FAUCETS????? AWESOME!!!!! But....How do you know it will stay on in ...»

a wet environment? Did you use a special paint? Did you have to do surface prep for that? Enquiring minds and all....LOL

Really Love the Corian! and the change in the vanity....really all of it...

Hi Sharron...When I first painted the counters I liked it. Then as time went on standing water areas started chipping away the paint. It was awful because everytime I would wipe up the water, there were little peices of paint chips on the towel. I think it would work great on a counter where there is no water.

We don't use our tub so I really wasn't concerned about wear & tear on the painted faucet. I ...»

used Rustolium which is made to stick to metals. I was a bit scared to try it, but it was a last attempt to save time & money. I would not do this on a faucet that gets lots of use. You would have the same problem as above.

    Thanks for stopping by Sharron!

That counter is gorgeous - doesn't look like Corian at all - looks like natural stone!

Hi Kelly! I have been so happy with that Corian. It doesn't show anything and wipes clean so easily. The 2 in. width really made a nice look too. I like this Corian better than the granite we had installed in our kitchen. Thanks for your nice comments! :)
