How to Plant Spring Bulbs

I love planting spring bulbs. Yesterday I was able to get 150 in the ground but still lots more to go. Selection is great now so get them before they are gone.
Planting under deciduous trees is an ideal spot. The trees are leafless in the spring letting sunshine in.
Lay out your bulbs where you want to plant them. This makes it easier to plan and see if you have enough bulbs.
Plant your bulbs 3 times their size deep leaving space between them in the planting hole. Plant pointed end up.
Crocuses & Mini Narcissus
Plant them in groups of five to seven in each hole. Try to stay away from straight soldier like rows.
Tulip tarda, a species tulip.
Try some species Tulips as they naturalize well. They open wide in the sun & close up at night.

I noticed no one mentioned anything about planting all our flower bulbs using powered bone meal or any other nutrients. Have I been the sucker for over doing over thinking? Plus while here and asking when one has what looks like thousand plus bulbs, that accidentally got all thrown in same bin by accident what is recommend for me to do with all these bulbs of unknown origin? Remember I am the gardener for out at the horse stables with 5.5 acres of hard north eastern rocky soil clay soil. Have yet to get any bulbs planted out there think after two years of good containment they are still in good shape to plant? If not tell me NOW before I kill myself trying to plant them. Thanks everyone.

@Suzette T I use bone meal when planting my bulbs but its not necessary. Most bulbs can be identified. Why not take samples to your garden centre to find out? I planted 1500 one year after I got a real bargain on bulbs being tossed out. Its a lot of work. Make sure your bulbs are not squishy or mouldy as they will be no good.
