Refinishing a craft store tool box

I had this unfinished tool box for a long time. I've seen so many beautiful re purposed vintage tool boxes around that I became inspired to do something with mine. I wanted a weathered look, so I dry brushed it with several layers of gray and white paint to create a vintage look and used it to store my napkins and extra flatware.

Thanks so much, I bought it from Michaels years ago. I'm not sure they still carry them.

I love the dry brush look. This looks a 100 years old. Great job.

I did my own little DIY project the other day and made the wood look like old, weathered barn wood. Pour white vinegar in a small container, and add coffee grounds and a piece of steel wool. Cover, and let it sit overnight. Then, use the steel wool to spread the liquid over unfinished or sanded wood. Let one coat dry, and add one more coat if a darker color is desired. It looks so great when it's finished! :)
