Thrift Store Lamp Makeover

I wanted new lamps, but didn't want to pay hundreds of dollars. Time to hit the thrift stores! I spotted a couple of matching brass lamps that had seen better days. They were dirty and dull, and the shades were filthy. But what a shape! It was their "figure" that caught my eye. I knew they could be gorgeous. I scored both for $20.00 and home we went. After a good cleaning, I taped off the parts that I didn't want to paint.
Here they are sporting primer.
After primer, two coats of brushed nickel spray paint were added. A couple of new shades, and I had a set of solid brass Stiffel lamps!
I am in love with my "new" lamps. :-)

I painted 2 of those many years ago with plain spray paint. They have lasted well all these years. One I finished off with a toothbrush speckled look with a stenciled heart embellishment and the other I did a finish with a sponge paint effect. Still use them, still like them
