Refinished Vintage Library Cabinet

on Jul 4, 2015
This piece was rescued from a vacant school building owned by a family friend. It desperately needed to be refinished. It is now used for storing craft supplies in our living room/office. For more info, visit http://diyonthecheap.blogspot.com/2012/08/Library-Card-Catalog-Cabinet.html.

Thank you all so much! Traci, I used Minwax Dark Walnut stain and a wipe-on satin poly topcoat.

What did you do with the inside of the drawers - open sides & interior rod to hold cards?

I'm an avid reader, and love the library;-) Since the very first time I saw a card catalog, I have always wanted one of my own! What you did to transform this piece is nothing short of amazing! Thank you, so much, for sharing your talent:-) Keep up
