Mission Organization-Fabric Covered Bulletin Boards

After picking up 3 plain tack boards at a thrift store for $10...I decided to add some paint, fabric, and bronze upholstery tacks to give them a more stylish and custom look. See the complete tutorial and more pictures on my blog Elegant Nest @ http://elegantnest.blogspot.com/2012/01/miss...

I'm seeing that nail head trim is trendy now, so I especially like this idea and will look for a similar way to duplicate it, maybe for a headboard. Thanks.

My husband wanted to add more cabinet space in our kitchen and bought a two shelf one with two doors unfinished at Home Depot. Cut a hole in the wall on the kitchen side and one on the ajoining bedroom side and pushed it thru the hole, The cabinet is deeper than the wall so sticks out on the bedroom side. It's back was an indented frame look, so I covered it with cork board and made it into a bulletin board and use it for grandkids pictures. This bedroom was my daughters and now that we ...»
are empty nesters have made it into my little computer sitting room. I think I will take some of the material I made throw pillows with and cover the board with it and use the nail heads for a finishing touch. This would dress it up alot and go better with my decor. Thanks for the idea. By the way, the hard part of this project was lining up the two open holes on each side of the wall. We have since remodeled the kitchen and transformed the doors and frame on the kitchen side into a dark cherry wood with a black glaze and cut out the centers of the doors and inset a beveled clear stain glass simple design into each panel. Thanks for the neat idea.
