Bathroom Remodeling Tiling

Cut Perfect Circles in Cement Board

I'm helping my brother-in-law remodel his bathroom and part of the project involves installing subway tile in the tub enclosure. Since this tile is 3 x 6 inches we need the walls to be super perfect. And this is why we chose Cement Board as the material to hang on the studs.

Screwing cement panels is pretty straight forward but trying to get perfect holes in them is a bit harder. Fortunately by using a scribe made from a piece of scrap wood & two backerboard screws we were able to make a perfect hole for the shower handle. I then used an old hole saw (meant for installing deadbolts) to cut a hole for the tub spout. For more tips and pictures click on over to my post http://www.homerepairtutor.com/cement-board-...
