Mosaic Table and Chairs

I purchased the vintage formica table for $20. at Saint Vincent De'Paul's. I had bought the vintage folding chiars at the antique show in Roundtop, Tx that happens twice a year. We wanted a table and chairs for the patio we added last year. After doing the mailbox I knew I wanted to revamp the table when I saw it!

This is beautiful! I love the way you rounded the edge on the table. You have lots of talent with mosaics!

Thank you, Miriam and Donna. I vamped out the design before I grouted and at first I did not have the edge rounded. It seemed to be missing something so I started over. I am glad I did.

Wow, CeCe! What a wonderful transformation! Who would ever believe this was bright, golden yellow table. I love the soft colors in the mosaic; you've given this table and chairs such character and charm.

    I am in love!

if it were me, I would put glass over it to preserve the white grouting from the elements :)

Marg, I had not even thought about using glass on top. I think that might be a great idea! The grout I used already has a sealer in it but you know how that goes.... I think I should check into the cost of glass on top! Thank you for the idea. ceCe

CeCe I would have to say those were the most comfortable months of the year, but as of late (past 2 yrs.) I'd say Nov., Dec., March and April. Even by the middle of April, our temps have begun to soar. 2010 the end of April hit the 90's. This year, the 90's waited until June.

Becky, we are on our first rotation of this plan. We might have to make some adjustments. It is a long story why we have 3 places...a blessing and a curse. We love all three places but need to downsize in Gilbert but you know what the market is like... our sunshine states got hit pretty hard. Actually though, that is why we were able to have the place in Destin. Our 3300 sq. ft. house in valley is not in the bracket that is selling and our grandson lives there so we are just hangin in ...»
right now till things get better. Thanks for telling me the best months! Our problem with Nov. and Dec. is also the day light savings time....not sure we could take it getting dark so early. AZ does not go on daylight savings time. Have you always lived in Tampa?

CeCe, born in Indiana, transplanted to Fla. when I was 2............so, I guess you could say I'm a Floridian. As a kid, lived in Sarasota, Ft. Myers and Lakeland. Hubby's career mandated frequent moving around the state of Fla., never farther N than Gainesville or farther S. than Naples. Have been in Tampa far longer than any other city, and we've retired here. As far as daylight savings time goes, I ignore it. Yes, it impacts businesses, but I choose to keep the hours my body ...»
rhythms prefer, so that doesn't impact me all that much. About the only benefit of daylight savings time is for businesses, in that it saves them electricity. Winter days are going to be shorter anyway, regardless of what government chooses to do with the clocks. 8-)
