Custom Shelves For The Office

Made these custom 6 foot shelves from pine board stained with Behr Exterior Redwood stain. I really liked the color of the stain for a different project so I decided to use it for the shelves as well. I created the 1/2" cove myself using a router. I messed up once or twice by placing the router in the wrong spot when routing but now I know one of the huge benefits of having a stationary router/router table. I also learned through this project that offset holes on the shelving brackets are a must. The ones I have are lined up exactly with the decorative curve piece making the holes on the back top hard to get into with a screw driver.

I wanted to get these on the wall and done before I take the rest of my pictures of the pink bedroom that I've turned into my office.

These look beautiful. Simple, functional and great-looking. Who could ask for more?

Thanks for the comments everyone. I like the way they turned out although I think I should have put on one coat of poly.
