Why I Chose Ikea Cabinets in my new house!

I'm currently renovating a 1979 fixer upper house & gutted the kitchen. Since my budget is tight and after pricing out several options for kitchens, I opted for Ikea Adel cabinets. They are halfway installed now and I'm loving my choice. Great for those of us on a tight budget! They are still under construction, but thought some of you might like to read about assembling and installing Ikea kitchens.

I left a comment on your blog. Wonderful beginning to a great kitchen! I love the white cabinets and how it is all coming together. You are so right, straight, plumb installation is so important in a kitchen!

Looks gorgeous! I am dying for new cabinets and really love the ones from IKEA. (Plus we have a zillion so we could really use a lower-cost option.) But people have so many opinions about that and it confuses me. I can't wait to go to your blog and read more!

I so love what you did in the Dining room, with the board and batten. Trying to get my hubs on board to do this SOMEWHERE in our house! Your blog is one of my favorites! Love your Mom and Dad...they remind me of my hubs and I doing the same thing for our girls. But your Pops seems to have a bit more skill than my hubs! Can't wait to see your next update!

Looking good! I just used Ikea Adele cupboard doors for my laundry room, but I painted them to go along with the vanity. Good cupboards, great price. Its going to look lovely!

Rhoda, it is coming along beautifully. It is classically styled and best of all, the white cabinets will allow you to make color changes as you please. And I know you "please." :) xxoo

Ikea has come a long way - it's not just for cinnamon buns anymore!! Seriously, your kitchen is amazing - can't wait to see what you do for counters!

Afriend of mine had cabinets like this, I don't know the brand of his. They went all the way up to the ceiling, no open space at the top to collect grease, and dust. I just love your cabinets. I wish mine went up like yours, and his.

Excellent choice. These will never go out of style. Is your Dad going to add crown molding to the tops? That would look killer!

I used IKEA cabinets in my 1922 Craftsman cottage, and they look terrific. After 8 years, they still look new and work perfectly. LOVE the soft-closing feature on the drawers. They have a 25 year warranty too, so what's not to like? Good choice!

HI, Barbara, there will be a crown at the top, but it won't touch the ceiling. I'll show it all soon.
