I saw a flock of robins on my lawn this morning.

They are migrating through to their winter homes in South America. It's a reminder to us all to feed them as they pass through. The best food for most songbirds is black oil sunflower seeds (not a cheap mix with millet and corn). Keep your hummingbird feeders full and don't forget to hang a suet feeder for the woodpeckers and nuthatches.

I have always wanted to see a real live cardinal as a child. Seeing my first one was one of the biggest thrills of living in Georgia. My favorite birds are stellar jays, hummingbirds, cardinals, and swans.

I have a plant called an Easter Eggs plants. First there is a flower then there is something that looks like an egg. The egg is white at first and then turn to a pretty golden color. Please tell me what you know about this plant and is there another name for it?

Daggone squirrels kept eating my sunflower seeds for the birds. I got so mad that I haven't put the feeder back out. I miss all my birdies. :-(

Sallie do you have a picture of your plant that you can post? When does it produce the 'egg'? Do the leaves stay green? How big does it get? It the egg a flower or a seed pod?

@Sallie: I think what you're talking about is Easter eggplant, which really does produce small, edible eggplants. Check out this link from Park Seed Co:

@Sallie, you are correct. On second reading, I believe the plant is ornamental, not edible.

though the millet will be eaten by the doves that continue to stay throughout the winter months.

Millet is a good food for doves....but it also feeds rodents: rats, mice, chipmunks, squirrels......

Beautiful photos. I love watching the birds and seeing them interact with each other. I put up a finch feeder this year and I do not think that I had any activity. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? My sprinkler system gets it wet....FYI.

There have been unusual sightings in winter. Also, occasionally one is seen at feeders in the Atlanta area as early as March. I love the hummers. Has anyone been lucky enough to see a white hummingbird?
