Thanks for the warning Walter. They are really cool-looking bugs. -
Thanks for the tips! My boys found an interesting-looking one in the back yard not too long ago and I wasn't sure if it was poisonous or not. Kept them away just in case. -
Thanks for the warning... I don't think they are too common here on the coast but man I have study the links/pics I will be on the look out. YUCK! -
the green one looks like he has his sweater on for winter. lol -
LOL Becky J, he really does! -
I've been hit by the saddleback a few times. After running into the house to apply Caladryl, I went back out w/the hedge clippers and executed the caterpillar. I guess you could say I sought revenge. -
Yikes, I think I'll stay inside and paint some furniture! -
I thought someone make a jacket small enough for this thing, looking closer, shocked me that, that is what it actually looks like, ew -
Haha I thought the same thing!! -
My Passion Flower gets orange ones with black feet all over it. The first year I was freaked out, but now I just let them do their thing and have at the vines and then they turn into beautiful butterflies! Thanks for the info Walter. -
Lin - The orange caterpillars are those of Gulf fritillary butterflies....and are harmless -
These things are real?? I thought you were kidding. -
Thanks Walter. I thought they were. They are pretty icky looking and I get so so many, but they are worth it once they turn into the butterflies.
