Eclectic + Rustic Fall Mantel and Built-ins

I took part in the Home Depot style challenge to create an awesome Fall mantel for my home! It was so fun and easy to take items I already had around the house, as well as deconstruct a few store bought items, to create this look.
I think something that is always key when decorating, is to remain true to your own style. I love being able to go in to a store, pick up an item, and visualize how I can take that item and deconstruct it to fit my exact taste.
I took these wooden creates and used one as a typical crate, but the other as more of a shelf. Also, the leaves and pumpkin decor falling out of the one create- that is all decorative toppings that came on another item I bought, but didn't want it on! Don't throw out pieces you deconstruct, because you never know how else you can use them!
For the Thankful banner I simply cut out cardboard and wrapped the letter in some fake leaves. I love that it gives off an Anthropolige look, while being much cheaper than anything you could ever buy there! I also loved using a vintage trophy to hold my dried sprigs rather than a typical vase or pitcher.

Thats it! to see more details from this look check out my blog! Full tutorial on the banner, and more items that are displayed on the shelves.
