This native is called Rudbeckia subtomentosa 'Henry Eilers', hardy zone 5-7, I love the quilled petals- full sun is best,

Just planted a beautiful rust colored, double petal rudbeckia yesterday ... this morning, my beautiful blooms are gone... something liked them as much as I did (could it be deer, rabbits, woodchucks?????) ... will dig up and put in a pot on my deck for now, I guess.

@Cathy I am so sorry to hear that. Nothing more frustrating than critters eating your plants up. I have something eating my Autumn Joy Sedum of all things. Eating all the leaves and leaving the stems....

We have rudbeckia all over our yard---whether we want it or not! At least it's sort of easy to pull out----just beware!
