What paint to use for resin wicker that will look good?

Hi Patti, in this Texas heat, I have found that using an enamel spray paint seems to give the best coverage and tends to hold up much better than latex. Hope this helps!

I have seen on this site that a lot of people use chalk paint on outdoor furniture and swear by it. I havn't tried it yet, but I'm going to.

If you decide to use chalk paint don't wax it after painting. I read that in one of Annie Sloan's books. I love ASCP but in this instance, I would use Krylon Fusion Spray Paint. It is a no-prep super bond paint. It is specifically for plastic and resin items among other things! There's lots of tips and tricks to spray painting properly to get good results on Pinterest.Krylon has many bright and beautiful colors! If you're still unsure get on google and do some research and see what you come up with! The paints that are available these days are phenominal! Good luck and happy painting!!

I would spray it with paint primer and then either spray paint for plastics in a color of your choice or a metallic paint. A hammered metal finish would be wonderful.

Hello Patti, I have just finished re-doing my wicker furniture - its not resin but I guess it's the same principal! You will need A LOT of spray paint to get even coverage, and I found Krylon Fusion Spray Paint the best as Sandra said! I use marine paint with a brush to get in cracks and crevices I use a gloss black as my furniture is black. It sits outside in the elements all year it's been 10 years since I painted them and I think I will paint them again this winter so they will be fresh next spring
