Bathroom Countertops Home Maintenance & Repairs

Any suggestions for replacing formica in bathrooms (3) plus bedroom bookshelves (3) other than granite?

We have a 50 year old home with formica on the bathroom counters and some of the bedroom bookshelves. I'm not a fan of granite and probably couldn't afford it. Is there something else that would be up-to-date?

There are several options including glass, composite and paperstone, which is made with recycled paper mixed with resin.

Here is an article that describes more options:

Formica, and laminate countertop products in general, have come a long, long way in the last few years. You can now get formica that looks like granite, marble, and other natural stones. long-haul. If I had it to do over again, I would probably select one of the new Formica-type products I mentioned. If you haven't checked out the current selection of Formica lately, you might want to.

Look up on the internet cement countertops.I saw one and it is beautiful.Different colors and finishes available. Also love metal wrapped around existing countertops in some areas. I once actually used wood that they made truck beds from and finished them. So many choices!!!
