Plastic Dresser Mirror Into Chalkboard

I picked up this plastic mirror recently at a thrift store for $5. Seriously, who decided plastic wood grain is okay? It's amazing how much better fake wood (plastic) looks after it's painted.
Who doesn't love a great chalkboard? I use them all the time, but not so much in decorating because I can't decorate them pretty. Here it is sitting on one of my DIY display easels. (click on the picture to see it in all it's beauty)
Is the horrible before. The back of this piece was cardboard, and it wasn't in good shape, some of the places where the screws secure were broken. That is why I decided to remove the mirror and replace it with luan for a chalkboard.
Because the luan isn't as thick as the mirror, I had to add some shim like material to fill the gap. I used Gorilla Glue epoxy to hold it in place.
To make it easy on myself, I put it in the "paint booth" and broke out the Finish Max and some DIY black chalk paint as a base coat. (see details on the blog)
Here it is in black, but I decided to change up the color to the current color above.
