    love the color!! if you yearn to have more light? move your valances up to the ceiling! the ceilings will feel higher and more light will come through the windows :-) I know you just painted.. dont worry about the holes, they will still be covered up by the fabric! The bottom of the fabric should be an inch or two at most below the top of the window (IMO!)

    This looks great. I had several navy blue walls in my kitchen/breakfast room. We painted a warm tan over all of it and what a difference it made. Isn't it amazing how paint can change the overall look of everything? You did a great job! I like Becky Sue's idea of raising the valances. That would look brighter.

    I did the same with my basement's windows, raising the curtains. It was so dark down there. It does help and it makes the window look larger.
