Christmas Tree Up-cycle

We are always looking for new ways to up-cycle tires. I kept looking for a Christmas tree idea that inspired me and never really seen anything I liked so I decided to go out on a "limb" and see what I could come up with.
We have a local garage who cuts their tires in half to be hauled off so I asked him if I could have some of the cut tires. After he looked at me like I had grown a second head, he said "take all you want, especially if you aren't going to charge me for hauling them away"!
We took a 4X4 and made the "trunk" then I took those 1/2 tires and attached them to the trunk. Painted it all green then began to decorate it. The "ornaments" are Christmas cookie tin lids, with a few random plastic and tin lids for variation in texture and size. The "star" is an industrial fan blade from a large heating/cooling unit.
Then we put some lights on it and viola...a one-of-kind 10ft Christmas tree!
The garland is made from aluminum cans that I cut in half and then cut. I really love the way it turned out. We got so many compliments on it and people came to look at our decorations just because they heard about out tree!!!
