Storage room

When the kitchen renovation started, the old stove recess was turned into a storage room. Untill today it's been filled with junk and it was time to make it more usefull, and pretty! If I had known how hard it was to remove lino from cement, I would have planned it a little better.
I plan to put in shelves and heaps of hooks and paint the cement.
Any ideas on a print/pattern for the floor. I'm leaning towards herringbone.

The before, in case it wasn't obvious! It's a small 1.1 x 1.3 m room.
I used an iron to help loosen the glue but still ended up using a blade scraper.
This was so much fun! Snort
After three+ hours of removing lino/glue. If you squint you can see Italy!

Some of the paint it did but not all of it. We weren't really trying to remove the paint though since we were putting a microtopping over the cement before staining. You could sure contact the Bean E Do company and ask their recommendation for paint removal. Their product comes highly recommended by me for the mastic removal. Was as easy to use as mopping. Smell was pleasant and it's non harmful which was a big plus for us.

Glue is a touchy subject but have you thought about PVA flu to level the floor painting and stenciling?
