Landscaping Suggestions for new pool?

We just built a new pool-the concrete was poured Friday! At the deep end of the pool the dirt had to be built up created a sloped area. We are having a wrought iron fence put in next week through that area as well.

I need suggestions for what to plant on the sloped area. I do not want to have to mow it due to the slope and the fence and I'd like something evergreen. Anything that could reduce erosion would be great too. Any suggestions? We are in Zone 7-mid-North Carolina and the area is full to part-sun.

Thanks!!

Melissa, take a look at Russian cypress, Microbiata decussata. It has a much softer look (and feel) than junipers, and its graceful appearance would look great by a pool. The new foliage is bright green and in late fall and winter the foliage takes on beautiful purple-bronze tones.

Thanks so much for the suggestions Douglas (sorry it took so long for me to reply-sick little boys!! I'm definitely going to look up those plants. The fence should be finished up by early next week so I can get started planting and laying sod!!
