What is the best paint to use to make chalk paint?

i have made quite a few different colors of chalk paint. i am now having trouble with white. i have used regular interior latex, rustoleum high gloss, rustoleum semi gloss and ceiling paint!!!! each time i make the white, it is very grainy and lumpy!!!! i need help, i have two pieces of furniture to finish!!!!! thanks in advance for all the help i can get!!!!!

    Try flat latex and dissolve your plaster of Paris in warm/hot water before you mix them

    THANKS SO MUCH SHANNON! I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING BUT FLAT! I DON'T QUITE UNDERSTAND WHY COLORED SATIN, SEMI GLOSS AND GLOSS PAINTS WORK!!!! I WILL LET YOU KNOW THE OUTCOME!!!! I HAVE SPENT A SMALL FORTUNE ON WHITE PAINT SO FAR!!!!! THANKS AGAIN!!!!
