Make an Address Sign

Several times a week someone knocks on our door and asks, "Is this 511?" "So sorry!" I'd reply, "I need to put an address sign out by the road." So finally I just got out some junk from my junk pile and made one. Now I don't have to give directions like this, "It's the house with the fence, um, it has some mailboxes in the front, oh, and look for my white van...." Now I can just tell them the address and they can find us!

I agree, no one will miss this! You can also say, it's the house with the cool address sign in the front. :)

It's good to show your address so the ambulance can find you if you call for help.

Thanks y'all! Patty, I hope you'll show it here if you make one! Laura, I didn't even think of that! Another good reason to have my sign.

Let me know how long it lasts. In my neighborhood, it would be picked by the trash guys, or I'd get a letter from Code Enforecment telling me it has to go....

Carolyn, it's been out there for a while. But we don't live in a neighborhood. It's way out in the country where no one cares. :)

@Carolyn: Or creative people who drive with one eye on the side of the road looking for good stuff might think, "oh look, Lisa is tired of that door and is putting it out by the curb, I'll just take that off her hands!" BTW, what is your address, Lisa??? :)

LOL Donna R! Just in case you're wondering, that door is bolted to the tree so firmly that someone would have to be driving around with some hefty tools to get it off. If they want it that bad, they can have it (but I'm not telling you my address) ;)

Darn, I just knew you would post your address on here!!! LOL! I figured you had it attached in some way. I did two scarecrows sitting on a bale of hay in my front yard years ago and I chained them to a tree. Did it so you couldn't see it but if someone thought they could just grab and go, they were in for a surprise.
